GPS would not fix position on arrival. Miserable Customer Service. RMA device fixes position but slowly and something is loose inside.

I bought a MouseGPS because I needed a laptop mouse first, and wanted to play around with a GPS. Now I know why Deluo is a GPS maker instead of a mouse maker, because this mouse has broken twice in the same way now. The first one lasted two months of occasional use before the scroll wheel broke. The replacement Deluo sent lasted only a few hours before breaking the exact same way. (was it the same one I sent back or what?) I liked the retractable cord and the feel of the mouse while it worked, but overall it fails as a mouse for not having a reliable wheel.

As a GPS, it works OK. Their own driver software never correctly recognized it, but MS MapPoint did which is all I wanted. Didn’t work very well on a cloudy day. It still works as a GPS even with a broken wheel.

I really wanted to like this product, but instead I’m getting a real mouse from a real mouse maker like Logitech or Microsoft, and a separate GPS receiver.

Product arrived with software plus a copy of Streets and Trips 2008 upgrade. Product must be switched from mouse function to GPS using a switch on the bottom. Can’t use both functions at once.

Aquisition takes about 5 minutes using the diagnostic program, then switch to streets and trips. I found that the cable to the mouse is a little short, so purchased an inexpensive USB extension, although the unit seems to track well laying in the seat next to me.

I also noted that the cord is rather thin, and I’m not sure how long the retractor will last, so I almost always use the extension cable.

GPS location is dead-on, but Streets and Trips doesn’t always hit the mark with typed-in addresses or pre-programmed locations.

All-in-all, works well and does what I bought it for.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. SEE MY REVIEW FOR DeLuo 31-919-22. Same MouseGPS bundled with Microsoft mapping CD.

None of the bookmarks I have for DeLuo’s websites are working. It looks like this MouseGPS dragged them under.

When I first got this item, I didn’t really know what to expect. But it’s a great combination of two critical functions for when I’m on the road. For awhile, I was carrying my own GPS unit with me when I traveled. But I didn’t want to carry the mounting device, so it would roll all over in the car. So then I started renting GPS devices with my rental cars. They work fine, but sometimes its quite a bit of a bump on the rental car tab to get them. The idea of incorporating the GPS receiver into a great travel mouse is simple, but brilliant. I always carry a mouse with me, and now it just serves a completely different, but for me, very necessary function, in the same device. It’s very easy to use – I have MS Streets & Trips on my machine, and I just switch the mouse over (there’s a button on the bottom), and it becomes my GPS receiver. My laptop screen is the GPS screen. Works great.

The other reviews are right on in saying that it won’t fit a 17″ computer. It perfectly fits my 15.4″ widescreen notebook (Dell Inspiron 6000) with a nice snug fit. I believe that it was redesigned to not scratch the notebooks because the logo does not protrude to the interior of the sleeve. Highly recommended (for 15.4″ notebooks)!

I liked the laptop sleeve until the metal body glove logo label on the front chipped the top of my laptop. The label is a metal logo that has 2 prongs that fit through a back piece and then fold over. Well, the prongs were not folded flat and one of them took a huge chip out of the cover of my laptop. I’m lucky I didn’t have a tablet or it would have ruined the screen. And Fellowes has an extremely frustrating and complicated claims process. I do not recommend this product. I gave it 1 star because they wouldn’t let me give it 0. A protective case that inflicts damage is useless.

Although I purchased this for my 17″ laptop (which it could not accomodate)I kept it for another computer. It is a bit thinner than I expected but adequately cushions, as long as you don’t drop it! It has a nice sleek feel and the zipper is easy to operate and durable.

For several years, I carried my laptop in a Targus notebook case. The weight of the bag and of the laptop on my right shoulder often left me with severe discomfort during my long commute to school and to work. I finally decided to purchase the Fellowes Neoprene Notebook Sleeve so that I could place my laptop in my bookbag.

After purchasing this product and using it for about a month, I would recommend that you consider these points:

    1) Will my laptop fit into the Sleeve?

    ————————————–

You may be thinking to yourself that this is an obvious point. However, I would suggest that you measure the thickness, width, and length of your laptop, and compare that to the measurements that Fellowes provides for the sleeve. One observation that I made about the sleeve is that it is very thin. I found that my Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop with a 15″ wide LCD screen just barely fit into the Fellowes 17″ Neoprene sleeve (“the sleeve”). What I mean by barely is that I can place my laptop entirely into the sleeve but I have difficulty closing the zipper to encase the laptop. The thicker your 17″ laptop, the harder I think it will be for you to zipper your laptop within the sleeve. Many have also expressed this same viewpoint in their reviews on Amazon and other websites. Do not dismiss this very important point or you may end up returning this item.

    2) How safe will my laptop be in the sleeve?

    ——————————————–

Compared to my old bag, the Neoprene sleeve offers minimal protection. Why? The sleeve will protect your laptop from the inadvertent scratches and from the random crud that may enter your laptop during transport. But (and more importantly) the sleeve will offer minimal protection from any impact the laptop may suffer during an accidental drop. The sleeve is especially weak around the zipper area (as there is less padding). For those who are prone to the accidental slip and fall, or for those who are used to dropping their bookbag (which may in the future carry your laptop), the sleeve may not be for you.

If, on the other hand, you take good care of your laptop, and are conscious of it during transport, it will likely suffer no harm. Moreover, it may be more comfortable to carry the laptop within the sleeve in a bookbag than it is to carry it in a shoulder-strap bag.

    3) What will I carry the notebook sleeve in?

    ———————————————

Bookbags and handbags come in all sizes. You may first want to think about whether or not your notebook (with the sleeve around it) fits into your existing bookbag or handbag. If so, how much addition by subtraction is taking place? With the added notebook, how many documents, books, and etc can you now fit into that handbag or bookbag? A student with a heavy course load may end up carrying some books in his hands.
